The hermit in Leo Tolstoy’s “Three Question”, said to this to the Tsar.

A bearded man came running out of the would.

The bearded man come to kill the Tsar because the Tsar had killed his brother and also seized the property. He was coming in haste because he somehow managed to escape from the clutches of the Tsar bodyguard who would have killed him and wounded him bitterly.

The bearded man was the Tsar’s enemy who wanted to kill the Tsar but recognized by the bodyguard’s of the Tsar and got wound on the stomach.

Getting no answer of his Three Question when the Tsar was about to leave the place, the hermit called the attention of the Tsar to a man running towards them. The man was holding his hand against his stomach and blood was flowing profusely from there. He fell fainting on the ground. So the Tsar along with the hermit, engaged to nurse the wounded man. At first they unfastened the man’s clothing. The Tsar bandage his wound with his own handkerchief and with a towel of the hermit. But as blood kept flowing, the Tsar washed and rebandaged wound again and again. At last, the blood stopped flowing and man got back his sense. The Tsar gave him some fresh water to drink and carried him inside the hermit cell and laid him on the bed.
